The Creative Learning Lab of Waag Society organized PICNIC Junior during the Cross Media Week (PICNIC’07). PICNIC Jr. consisted of a Creative Workspace for youth between 14-18 and a seminar on Creative Technology and Education. The Creative Workspace took place on September 24th and 25th, the seminar on Monday September 24th.
The theme of PICNIC ’07 'Feel, Play, Make' offers many opportunities for engaging young people and professionals in the field of education.
New technology is widely used by young people, to create and share media, ideas and experiences. From the internet to mobile phones, the combination of creativity and technology opens a broad and challenging field of possibilities for education.
These creative environments can be experimental and playful, fresh approaches to learning. PICNIC Jr. brings the experience of creative technology to young people and to educators, exploring new and familiar tools in ways that excite personal expression and collaborative interaction.
PICNIC Jr. aims to inspire teachers and educators to use creative technologies and to inspire young people by demonstrating its creative potential.
