PICNIC Mini-Salon Dortmund '10
PICNIC Mini-Salon Dortmund took place at the E-Culture Fair. The E-Culture Fair is an experiential combination of exhibitions, demos, live presentations, workshops, and an open art lab. The E-Culture Fair 2010 was part of NL-Ruhr 2010 and ISEA 2010.
This intense, interactive workshop focused on the core theme of PICNIC '10 Festival: Redesign the World. During the Salon, 60 participants explored this concept from the angle of one concrete question: If you were to improve the quality of your own life or those of others, what project would you want to launch, what activity would you want to develop or what idea would you want to pursue?
In the evening, the Mini-Salon’s participants joined the closing party of the E-Culture Fair and the slept in Unna Massen just outside Dortmund. Unna Massen is a unique new project in North Rhine Westphalia which transforms part of an existing immigration center into an enclave for artists and other creatives. This area serves as a model for future urban spaces dedicated to combining architecture, music, art, light, creativity and sustainability.
