NDSM is the largest artistic incubator in the Netherlands, with 130 artists working in 80 studios, surrounded by creative and media businesses, schools and residences.

The NDSM Wharf Foundation has big ambitions: maintain and preserve the area's identity for its historic character, create an open area sustainability lab, and feature high-quality cultural programming. We are proud that PICNIC will contribute toward NDSM's ambitions. Take a look at their website.

PICNIC Festival 2011 will investigate several scenarios of urban futures. At the NDSM Wharf, we will also use our festival venue as a huge urban lab: together with Tihamér Salij of the Why Factory, a thinktank on urban scenarios run by MVRDV and Delft University, our creative team has designed a blueprint of the first PICNIC City. Together with leading architects, urbanists and other experts, PICNIC will organize workshops and labs as part of the festival program, discussing the blueprint for PICNIC City 2012. Make sure you join one of them. Your chance to redesign PICNIC Festival 2012 with us.
