What do you need to do to qualify for a completely free pass to PICNIC08?

"We want to know you! We are not asking for business plans or projections... We are not requesting any due diligence..! All we want is a good story. And we want you to tell us that story in installments...

Send us a series of seven short videos to explain who you are and what you do. In short: we want a week in the life of your start up. And you need to start soon!

What can you win?
"Tickets for PICNIC'08. The full monty: access to the PICNIC conference, the specials, the parties, the award ceremonies, everything! Normally these cost 1245 Euro plus VAT. And that's not all.

In addition, you will be invited to some activities PICNIC organises exclusively for start-ups:
- Beer and Innovation is a session with industry experts that are willing to provide personal advice,
- The ABN Amro Business Breakfasts will get you in touch with investors and financial advisers
- Meetings with the press - we have many many journalists at PICNIC hunting for a good story
.... and of course you will be listed as this year's PICNIC talent, your story will be told and perhaps, perhaps, you will be the PICNIC audience darling, and you will even make it to the main stage. In short: your start-up will get an invaluable boost!"

Who will judget my video entries?
"Erwin Blom, Dutch internet hero, is going to decide who will win. He likes music and beer, but he is incorruptable. The only temptation he cannot resist, is a good story. In video."

Ok, so what do I do?

To allow for some real video interaction, we are going to work with {www.seesmic.com Seesmic], the video conversation start up of Loic LeMeur, who is supporting this initiative! Loic is also speaking at PICNIC.

So here's how it works. If something is unclear, write a supernice message to your judge and jury, .

- Visit Seesmic and make an account.
- Befriend beerandinnovation and mail info@beerandinnovation.nl to let Erwin Blom know you are part of the game. Very important!
- During seven days, produce at least one video item per day in which you tell something about your start up. You can upload a little Steven Spielberg version of your story, with all the visual effects, you can cut that viral video that is not taking off in seven parts, or you can give us a simple webcam talk. Just be original, fresh and interesting!
- Show us you know how to communicate. Invite people to respond to your video items. Inform people that you are starting a video diary. Do it now!
- Make sure your PICNIC profile refers to your Seesmic page. (Are you not yet on the PICNIC network? Free and 3 minutes work)

And last but not least, make sure that your last episode is online on 19 September!
