A book+DVD about the unparalleled and offbeat work of one of the most original and popular artists-slash-animators currently active on the Web and beyond: HAN HOOGERBRUGGE. His steady rise to fame begins in the mid 1990's when he starts publishing an interactive animation series on the Web under the title Modern Living/Neurotica about a man – Hoogerbrugge's alter ego – who is struggling with the trappings and everyday inconveniences of modern life.

September 24th: THE FIRST COPY WILL BE HANDED OVER TO HAN HOOGERBRUGGE BY RUDOLF VAN WEZEL (BIS Publishers). THE DVD WILL BE SHOWN FOR THE FIRST TIME AS WELL ON BIG SCREEN. HAN HOOGERBRUGGE WILL SIGN SOME COPIES IN THE BOOKSHOP IN THE BUZZ HALL, WHERE THE BOOK WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR A SPECIAL PRIZE DURING PICNIC!

The Book
Each of the 10 chapters focuses on a different aspect of Hoogerbrugge's remarkable work and carreer. Topics include the interaction and sound design, the animation, his heroes and inspirations, his themes, Web publishing, and more. And the book takes an up-close look at the successful groundbreaking Flash animation series HOTEL, NAILS and Modern Living/Neurotica. Hoogerbrugge's graphic universe comes to life through an abundance of original illustrations, graphic work, comics and sequences from the animations. The illuminating texts plus three additional essays by experts in the field of art, motion design and animation, and an introduction by the acclaimed author Marcel Möring offer a deeper insight into his work.

The DVD
The book includes a comprehensive, region-free, hybrid DVD (Mac/PC/DVD player compatible) designed by Hoogerbrugge himself, featuring over 1 hour of Hoogerbrugge's work such as short films, animations, music videos, art works and commissoned works. As an added bonus, the DVD contains a complete archive of Hoogerbrugge's flash animation series HOTEL, NAILS and Modern Living/Neurotica.

Much anticipated

It was a pleasure to contribute to this book, and research Han Hoogerbrugge's work - he is a true original. Even more happily, I'll be around for the launch to see it come to fruition, and see HH and the team again.
