During Picnic08, Virtueel Platform presents a showcase of more than 30 art projects by individual makers and organisations from the Netherlands and abroad. The people behind the projects will also be there to talk about their work during a continuous programme of show-and-tell sessions.
e-Art reflects contemporary trends in art, research and development. We have narrowed the scope somewhat to focus on the following domains: environment, online lives and mobility. All relevant topics for the new media culture field and that also feature in the conference. What the projects have in common is a search for new forms of social enquiry and an attempt to cross traditional boundaries. This island of installations, research and talks serves as a valuable counterpoint to the PICNIC '08 event, with its emphasis on creative industries, media and marketing.
This Special will take place 24th till the 26th from 11.00-18.00 at a special dome on the Westergasterrain
