After last year’s highly successful Creative Tour event, part of the annual Picnic, the legacy continues with a new edition being prepped for September 25. Syntens, platform for entrepreneurship, the Amsterdam branch of the Chamber of Commerce and new media business incubator MediaGuild all have their stake in the invite-only event. The event combines a networking boat tour from the Picnic ‘08 festival area with a project market and fancy drink in the lobby of the fully renovated Amsterdam Branch of the Chamber of Commerce.
A select yet diversified group of national and international representatives including company owners, venture capitalists, politicians and journalists, are invited for the boat tour, heading to the Chamber of Commerce. Over there they will be introduced to projects of the three initiators, representing various fields of expertise and diversified stages of development. After thatn, both parties are invited aboard for the return trip, providing everyone with an extended and uninterrupted networking opportunity.

The Blue Noise Department is an Amsterdam based company specialized in designing and constructing interactive environments for the arts, theater, dance and video. Next to making interactive installations, they are innovative in designing and producing the digibrush. The digibrush is a painting tool which enables you to paint real time on top of film and/or make paintings with time as an extra variable. Further more we developed a search engine, which uses the internet real time and spits out a moving collage which keeps on changing and never repeats itself due to a constant live updating on the internet. Donkeypedia is a cross media project with a donkey that travels through European nations. The donkey carries various devices (laptop, GPS, camera etc) and is digitally directed by local children, from village to city, from nation to nation. Children will collect stories, art expressions, movies and objects that represent something essential about their place and its residents. The result: a kaleidoscopic platform that reveals the European identity step by step. Donkeypedia started its walk as pilot on 29th of august 2008 in the Netherlands. The system fuses the child's drawings into the emerging story and connects them to learning components (e.g. a situation or a specific word).
