The dinner, taking place during the PICNIC’08 / CrossMediaWeek (September 24-27, 2008), will be held in a unique setting. PICNIC, which has evolved in a short period of time into a pioneering platform of international creative talent, gives Amsterdam a chance to show its imaginative side. Television, film, games and interactive media mix and mingle, giving rise to new and innovative forms of expression. As regards to cross media, the Netherlands serves as both an ideal test market and a location for multinationals to establish operations. This can be attributed to the increasing interactivity of media, the high degree of broadband and mobile penetration, a highly developed and competitive media market, and the favourable attitudes towards technological innovation. Each year, PICNIC serves as the platform where the creative industry comes together to conceive new ideas.

KennisKring Amsterdam, The Knowledge Network Foundation, looks forward to taking part in PICNIC, viewing it as an opportunity to demonstrate in a concrete and appealing manner its core activity of linking knowledge institutes, the business community and government. Just as last year, Diederik Karsten, CEO of UPC Nederland, will co-host this Executive Dinner.
