The PICNIC YOUNG SPECIALS aim to inspire professionals in the educational, cultural and creative sectors with new insights into the possibilities of using creative technology in education. Speakers present their vision on (inter)national ‘best practices’. Participants share experiences, and explore new possibilities together. Creative producers, the educational field and the ICT and educational market get an opportunity to share and explore case studies and results.
The focus of PICNIC YOUNG SPECIAL Anytime Any Place Learning is on learning in unexpected places and at unexpected times. For example at the bus station when going to school in the morning, or while watching commercials on TV.
The city as a learning environment WORKSHOP
In the afternoon participants of the workshop can also follow the hands-on workshop in the Location based experience lab (www.picnicnetwork.org/page/22435/en). This locative afternoon is oriented towards the broad spectrum of possibilities of the city as a playing field. Scenarists, game developers, media experts, technologists, cultural institutes and education professionals work together to create inspiring concepts.
Participants develop the concept in a lab and test it live with a wide variety of locative technologies. Participants will be inspired and helped by experts in the area of scenario writing, theater, gaming, media and technology.
