In memoriam Eckart Wintzen
Creative Genius and Creative Entrepreneur

Yesterday morning we received the sad news that friend, advisor, mentor and member of the jury of PICNIC has passed away. Eckart was a creative genius and an example for many creative entrepreneurs.
Last September at PICNIC, Eckart was actively involved in the PICNIC Green Challenge as one of the founding fathers. Together with ao Sir Richard Branson and Woody Harrelson, he challenged young creative entrepreneurs to combat the issue of global warming.
Besides being the founder of BSO/Origin, Eckart was one of the initial investors in WIRED Magazine, Ben & Jerry's Icecream, Ex'pression, EyeCatcher, Green Wheels and many other ventures.
The man with the World's most contagious laugh. Eckart gave colour to life and we will miss him very very much.
Eck, thank you for all the fun, laughter, friendship, kindness, inspiration, advise, wisdom and passion for PICNIC. Without you, we wouldn't have had this great festival. Farewell my friend!
We wish Eckart's Family strength in these difficult times.
