Cinegrid wins CENIC Award

Many PICNIC delegates will remember the spectacular 4K showcase presented by the Cinegrid Consortium at PICNIC'07. For those that missed it: this really was an eye-opener for TV and film makers as well as audiovisual artists. And for any delegate the demo offered a spectacular taste of things to come!

The image quality of 4K cinema is four times better than the current HDTV standard, and the quality of the sound is much better as well. And somehow, that's what makes the difference. It's not just a slightly better experience. The life-sized Cinegrid projections shown at PICNIC offered a breath taking experience!

At PICNIC'07 the Cinegrid Consortium met to discuss and demonstrate 4K with recordings made earlier in the year at the Dutch Holland Festival. We are delighted to inform you that this project has now won the CENIC Innovative Networking Award for Experimental/Developmental Applications.
