Waag Society

Waag Society is one of the leading e-culture labs in Europe. It has been involved in many pioneering internet projects since it's foundation in 1996. It is active in the fields of Health Care, Culture, Education and Public Domain, with a strong focus on societal benefits on the use of new technology.

Many of Waag Society’s applications have found their way to a broad spectrum of users and have been awarded national and international prizes. The organisation has vast expertise in the field of interaction and visual design, the social use and construction of software and hardware and the development of pilots and prototypes involving users in all stages of the process. Both art and artists play an important role in the development of the applications. Waag Society is headed by Marleen Stikker who is a leading figure both national and international in the fields of e-Culture and the Creative Industries.
