Make – The Revolution in Personal Fabrication

Neil Gershenfeld, Director, The Center for Bits and Atoms, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Neil Gershenfeld and his colleagues have created Fab Labs around the world. He shows how personal fabrication is possible today and how it’s meeting local needs. Children in inner-city Boston have used Fab Lab machines to make saleable jewellery; Indian villagers have used them to develop devices for monitoring food safety and agricultural engine efficiency. And MIT students have made everything from a dress that protects your personal space to an alarm clock you wrestle into silence
