The Essence of PICNIC
March 18th, 2010, posted by: Liz Keel
PICNIC is the place for curious minds to exchange innovative, inspiring ideas in an informal atmosphere. It's a three-day festival that blurs the lines between creativity, science, technology, business and society to explore new solutions in the spirit of co-creation. Come with an open mind, get involved and expect the unexpected. Leave with new plans, new connections and a new perspective on what is possible.
But how can PICNIC possibly be summed up in only four sentences?! It's a struggle we face every year.
PICNIC is so much more than just a festival. It's a place to make new connections. It's a place to brainstorm with old friends. It's a place to find partners for your new projects. It's a place to find out what innovations are happening in other industries. It's a place to escape from the office and open your mind to new ideas. It's a place to share your expertise with others....

February 10th, 2010, posted by: Liz Keel

On 4-5 February, experts and industry representatives from across the EU gathered in Amsterdam to tackle these questions and more.

Update: PICNIC wins Gouden Gashouder Award!
January 7th, 2010, posted by: Liz Keel
Yesterday evening, PICNIC was presented with the 2009 Gouden Gashouder award from the Westergasfabriek. In the words of the jury, PICNIC was selected as the winner due to "... The daring and cheerful design, but above all the way that PICNIC successfully combines new media with sustainability. In terms of both content and design, PICNIC is a perfect match - innovative, adventurous and surprising on both fronts - an inspiration for future users of the Gashouder."
Now in it's second year, the 2009 Gouden Gashouder award was presented to us by Holland Festival, the 2008 winner.
In addition to all the members of the PICNIC team, we would like to give a special thanks to Sylvester Lindemulder for his dedication and creativity in the Art Direction of the event and the entire team at Stripped for their superior technical production.
We would of course also like to thank the entire team at the Westergasfabriek for recognizing our efforts at ...
