FairPhone is the world’s first collective, non-profit developer of fair trade mobile phones. On 17 March, you’re invited to help celebrate the first anniversary of FairPhone with a special event at the Waag in Amsterdam. In addition to this milestone, FairPhone is also celebrating the return of the FairPhone team who recently travelled to Congo to collect samples of raw materials to be used in the first Fair Phone prototypes.

FairPhone presents: The future of FairPhone - retour du Congo

On 17 March 2011 the initiators of FairPhone (Waag Society, NIZA and Schrijf-Schrijf) are hosting a festive gathering, and you’re invited to be a part of it! This special occasion marks the first birthday of FairPhone and the return of team members who recently completed a fact and resource finding mission in Congo. During this event they will also give a preview of the future of the FairPhone campaign: developing a phone based on fair resources.
