HyperMud meets Internet of Things – Builders at Play
In this lunch session, the participants of two workshops come together to bridge the gap between urban planning communities, DIY fabrication and construction techniques.
The current economic climate offers great opportunities for small-scale urban development. On the one hand, big industrial construction plans have been stalled. On the other hand, communities, designers and makers increasingly shape their own urban environment. Innovative tools like networked & democratized on- and offline planning mechanisms, the development of cheap and accessible 'file to factory' digital fabrication and low-tech ecological building techniques open new doors.
Open source urban objects can generate new ways for citizens to (re)appropriate urban space.
Feel free to join the discussion!
"HyperMud meets Internet of Things – Builders at Play" is part of the Urban Future is Personal programme made possible by SNS REAAL Fonds.
