Open Data Hackathon
- Date
- Day 1 (Wednesday 14 September)
- Time
- 10:00 - 17:30
- Venue
- Appsterdam HQ
Over the course of three days, we’re organizing an Open Data Hackathon!
Developers will gather here to explore unconventional ways of using open data from the City of Amsterdam, as well as to learn more about dealing with and making sense of open data in general. During the session we won’t separate by platform: Android, iOS and other types of programmers will be mixed together. The focus is not on the type of programmer you are, but rather how to handle open data and utilize it in the best way.
On the first day from 10:00 to 12:00, we'll start with an introductory session as well as nominee presentations and awards for the Sanoma App Challenge (€5.000!). In the afternoon from 13:00 onwards, we will have lots of programming interspersed with keynotes by Hans Loomans of Microsoft, Arnold de Koning of Rijkswaterstaat, Vin Sumner and Olli Aro of Clicks and Links, Hack de Overheid and Sanoma. Also, throughout the afternoon, we'll have "Meet the Makers," where you can find developers you may be looking for to work on apps for smartphones, iPads or laptops.
